EDCI 5114 - Advanced Educational Psychology 3 credit, graduate level |
| Description: This course explores the nature of learning and teaching from educational and psychological perspectives. Learning will be addressed through several theoretical positions including behaviorism, social cognitive theory, information processing theory, and constructivism. The teaching aspect of this course will cover instructional design, teaching strategies, classroom management, motivation, and assessment. The delivery of this course will involve the synthesis of text, audio, video, simulations, and experiments. Overall, this course will focus on grounding practice in theory, with an emphasis on practice. |

Restrictions: Pre-req: EDCI 3154 and EDCI 4124
Course not open to students enrolled in a Virginia Tech teacher certification program. Students enrolled in a Virginia Tech teacher certification program must register for EDCI 4124. |
