EDCT 5734 - Transition Programming for Individuals with Disabilities 3 credit, graduate level |
| Description: This is an in-depth study of transition policy, programs and services for individuals with disabilities. The course focuses upon the transition process especially preparation for employment and training at the secondary level, post-secondary education and community and independent living skills. The course examines specific strategies for identifying transition related needs of youth with disabilities, student and family involvement, the career-occupational preparation process, exploration of various transition education programs in secondary, post-secondary and adult settings, collaboration between educators, families, students and community service providers, and career and transition curriculum development. |
